I've written a book called Black sun, it's about a young boy called Etsu who's a pirate, he's father was killed by a strong pirate and his mother was forced into hiding leaving him a letter and a tattoo on a rock. in this world there are pirates, the army, NKS, and there is tree source of power as it's a fantasy and adventure, there's tattoos which give people ability, a wolf tattoo would let one use wolves abilities and turn into a wolf, a gravity tattoo would allow one to feely control gravity, the second power source is Mystic energy, this power source can e learned is all around us, it boosts people's strength, defence against tattoo users, and there is Sui which is a special mystic energy ability that not everyone has, the ability depends on the person's soul and the strength of their will. the third ability is just martial arts and swordsman, yin and yang energy, qui. Etsu the Mani character has the sun tattoo which is a spreading tattoo, there is only 6 spreading tattoos tattoo's strength is determined by it's size but spreading tattoos can increase in size depending on circumstances and the users. every tattoo was created due to events, the sun tattoo was formed from the anguish fear anger of a clan who was burned alive, they prayed to the sun god for revenge and all their emotions gave birth to the Sun tattoo, so essentially each growing tattoo have a strong will, they want something and when their will and the user's will is aligned the tattoo spreads and the power increase, but if the tattoo's will is stronger then your own the suers gets possessed the possession has three levels, when it gets to level three the user can no longer return. so our main character set out as a space pirate and gathers a crew in order to find all users of the spreading tattoos and killed them as that's the reason why his father died and his mother forced into hiding as his mother is a powerful pirate who sold tattoos and a pirate wanted a tattoo that she had so he killed her husband and she had to flee.
