Suppose a random variable X follows Gamma distribution with parameters alpha (shape) and beta (scale). I would like to truncate all values of X<k (i.e., to have an upper Gamma distribution with a lower limit of k (numeric value e.g., k = 0.6). The upper Gamma distribution should have a mean of A and a given variance of B (numeric value e.g., A = 1 and B=0.2). I need a code such that I can set numeric values of A,B and K, then the code would solve for alpha and beta for the upper gamma distribution with lower limit of k. Note that alpha and beta must be positive values (i.e., alpha> 0, beta >0).

Sounds interesting. I have a question, how large is the X in size? And X would be randomly generated? If I understood correctly, inputs are only A, B, K. In an all, I think the solution would be uncertain. And a lot of alpha- beta pairs would be possible.
