Engineering Brief Engineering Design calculations a Direct Low Pressure (DLP) fire suppression system similar to common ones found in the marketplace according to the following standards Propose a solution of a Direct Low Pressure (DLP) fire suppression system that meets the following standards and detailed engineering design and report. UL 2166: UL Standard for Safety Halocarbon Clean Agent Extinguishing System Units ISO 14520-1:2015: Gaseous fire-extinguishing systems Physical properties and system design NFPA 2001 Standard on Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems The system should be scaled for 3 systems 1.5 Kg System, 2.5Kg, 5Kg system See the attached document on how the system works and references to other products in the marketplace. Main functions Detection and suppression using a pneumatic heat detection tube. Ability to charge the cylinder to pressurize it Ability to charge the Heat Detection Tube The manifold should be able to equalize the pressure in the tube and cylinder Prevent the system from leaking pressure once it’s pressurized Ability to connect a low-pressure switch Ability to deactivate the system by de-pressurizing without discharging the suppression agent. The system should have a way to relieve pressure either through a pressure relief valve or a built-in relief valve on the manifold The system should be able to release a suppression agent through the heat detection tube once. Ability to isolate the detection tube from the system, like maybe using a ball valve. Deliverables Provide design calculations and simulate a Direct Low Pressure (DLP) Fire Suppression System What is the volume of the Novec 1230 agent that should be used for the 1.5 Kg System, 2.5Kg, 5Kg system How long should the detection tube be before it is no longer effective How many cabinets can be protected by each system;1.5 Kg System, 2.5Kg, 5Kg system How big of a volume per cabinet can be protected by each system; 1.5 Kg System, 2.5Kg, 5Kg system Explain the influence of the pressure on the suppression What happens if we pressurize the system at 4 bar instead of 12 bar or 15 bar How does the pressure push out the suppression agent to the tube, what is the driving force? Explain the influence of the inert gas used to charge the cylinder and the tube kit What happens if we charge using air? What happens if we use other inert gases other than Nitrogen Explain what class of fires can be protected with the system and provide calculations and literature to support
