I need a program or app made to use for printing barcode labels for incoming material that keeps track of all received material and outputs it to an excel or csv file. We make large purchases of used goods that do not have barcodes on them when we receive them, so this program will be used to catalog what is in the lot, and print barcodes to apply to the product before putting it away. We currently use an MS Access based solution, see attached screenshot of entry screen. With Access we run in to data issues if more than one user has the same PO# open, I've also been told Access shouldn't be used over wireless networks, which we don't currently, but would like to be able to. This app is only used to track inbound material, does not need to track outbound material.
Workflow:
1. User enters PO number, and date.
2. User enters vendor name (limited to list).
3. User then starts selecting items from the lot, types in the SKU (I can provide list of SKUs)
4. User types in qty. and bin location, and cost per item.
5. User presses print button and gets # of labels based on qty.
6. User grabs more material and adds line items to item receipt, repeating steps 3-5.
7. When all materials are cataloged, user presses export button to create a summary excel or csv file. (exported file will need to be emailed to staff, or put in specific network folder)
*Barcode labels need to have SKU, bin location, date, and po#, and user initials all printed on the label.
*Need to support multiple users at the same time
*Once user prints labels, lines for those labels that are printed get locked from editing.
*Need to use program over wireless network.
*Need to print on specific label size (see attached pic of 1x3" label)
*Need admin area to add/modify SKU's, need to also be able to add in mass via excel file or csv
*When user enters a SKU, a description field shows at the bottom of the screen, description is sourced from SKU table, not put in by user.
*Entry screen needs to show running total for item cost X qty.

Would you welcome a web-based application rather than only within your local area network? I can do it in PHP/MySQL. Wireless access or wired internet access is not a problem. As long as there is internet access, the app will work and can retrieve/store data from/to the database.

What you have explained here is a Database driven platform where each user will have their very own private dashboard so that they can manage and streamline their activity within the platform as you mentioned . Each such user dashboard directly feeds in and out of the mother database . Of course the admin ( in this case I am assuming you) will have a MASTER-DASHBOARD to manage all the activity and every aspect of the platform and all the users from his / her dashboard.
So therefore , based on these facts , I am considering that the database schema will indeed be an ORM DATABASE so that all the modules within the platform will be dynamic and fluid it grows as your user engagement grows .
Now , the functional aspects that you have mentioned ( i mean the features ) will be done with the use of a MODULAR CONTROL so that each of the function can be done individually with their own private FUNCTION-CALL without intervening with other features . This will also give you the added ability to add new features in the future without the fear of messing anything up.
From what I have read , there are only a few more things that needs answering so that I can understand your deployment. So let me elaborate on that . Can you please tell me what type of API you will be using for Data set ( REST or JSON type? ) , Can you tell me the type of Server you have ? and of course what type of CRON it supports?
