Android maps + chat - repost

Hi, I am 5th semester student and i have a final task from my teacher. My project is simple, I want to create a student android app (with eclipse / java netbeans platform) that combine google maps and group chat. so, when open the app, there are 2 options : 1. Search place, here student can search any place in the campus and the app can show the way. 2. Group chat, here student can chatting with another student who take the same class. all the feature may implement all the api that available such as google api etc. Hope you can help me with my limited cost.
