Folk Music Production Feedback

I'm new to music production and have recently started learning how to arrange and produce music in GarageBand before moving onto something more advanced like LogicPro. I find the best way for me to learn is to get feedback on what I've done, but I don't know anyone in real life that can help give me feedback. I also want to make sure I'm paying you for your time. I'm interested in writing, arranging and producing primarily indie folk and indie pop music. Some artists with production sounds I like (Hozier, Isabel Pless, Catie Turner, Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago). I started with an arrangement of Hozier's Cherry Wine for piano and strings because it's a song I know well so I thought it would be a good place to start. I'm sure it's not a very good production job, but that's why I'd like to know how to get better :) I'd like to receive detailed feedback on what I can do to make it sound more high quality. Including feedback on: * The arrangement and recording * The balance and mixing * Editing and compressing, EQ, etc. * Mastering * Anything else I can do to make it sound more high quality * Anything I should do or avoid for my next project to improve * Anything else you can think of to help me on my journey. I like to understand the 'why' behind things, so it would be ideal if your feedback was well structured and in the form of 'you did A which had B effect. Next time, you could do X which would have Y effect.' The more detail the better! I have a background in engineering & computer science to feel free to get into the technical nitty gritty - I love that stuff!
