The objective of this ad is for initial research purposes and to get feedback from potential coders. This will help me understand the scope of the project and fees that coders are requesting.
A family members runs a very small estate agency (portfolio about 200 clients). And is looking at creating a website. I am IT literate and am familiar with dreamweaver to create a basic webpage for corportate presence. But the project is not designing a website!... it is to design a online system that will intergrate to this website and help create extra business from people who do not want to use estate agents, but would prefer to advertise with agents because of the custom the estate agents may generate from potential tentants.
I want to create an online system that will be intergrated with an sql database that will allow people to advertise their property for renting/selling purposes. This facility will be connected (initially free) to paypal and allow landlords to set the period of time for advertising etc (more details given later). The relational database must be designed and confirm to all standard sql so that future updates can be made.
Potential tenants must be presented with an interface to search available properties depending on criteria such as housing type, area, bedrooms etc etc.
The administrator must have a control panel to make changes to everything.
There are many free scripts readily available from the net which in principle I would be very happy to use. So perhaps someone can edit these codes for my exact purposes?
As already explained this ad is intiaily for research but if i receive reassuring feedback from coders with excellent feedback then I can elaborate on the use case scenarioes to initiate the project.
Money is obviously a key issue for all concerned, and this is a small business that can not afford fancy systems that just wont work. So lets have some honest feedback! :=)
