Hello everyone,
My name is Jonathan Regan :)
Thanks for taking the time to read this project description.
Ok, before we start - please check my Scriptlance feedback :)
This project will suit a coder with CGI or PHP experience.
I do require a MySQL backend for this script ...
I would like you to build a simple link exchange script.
The script will allow a webmaster to add their link to my
website. The software will have a textfile database. This
text link exchange script is only designed for small amounts
of links - so nothing too powerful is required. Here is the
process:
1) Webmaster arrives at my website. Clicks on an "add my
website" link, and they type in the name of the link, the
anchor text they want to use, their email address and the
website that they intend to link from (ie, their reciprocal
link location)
2) They receive an email that explains that their link will
soon be added to my website. This email will contain the
HTML and URL for them to link to me. It's best if you simply
create a template file for this email, and I can modify it.
3) Once they receive the email, they will then decide to put
a link pointing to my site on their website.
4) While this is happening, I also receive an email that
explains that someone wants to exchange links. I can then
log into a tiny control panel, where I can see the current
links that have been exchanged. New links will appear, and
I should be able to click on the URL that the webmaster
specified in their signup process. If I decide that the
link that they have pointed back to me is valid, then I
should be able to click a link, and their URL is then
added to my "links page" (ie, their link is added to my
flat textfile database). Similarly, if I decide to delete
a link, there should be a delete link beside the submitted
URL.
The links page will be designed by myself, and I would like
you to specify a variable that I can include. For instance
~~~Links~~~ would then insert all links. I have a .htaccess
file that can do this task ...
Ok, some of you may be thinking - but why doesn't he just go
to Hotscripts and get himself a ready made script? Well, I
want a nice slick text database driven script. Hopefully it
will only have about 5 files.
If you have something like this - then please message me,
and goodluck bidding!
Cheers,
Jonathan
P.S. - Simpler is better, and I do NOT require the script to
auto-check to insure the links are still there. I have other
software for this process. Make it simple and simpler ...
