Looking for a way to convert text to url in word documents.
Please suggest a method, I was thinking of something like a macro or a vba function or a? plugin or ?
It will look for specific text (regular expression) then convert to a clickable url in word
Best solution would be something? I don't need to import in each word document, that would be "resident" in word
## Deliverables
Requirements are:
1- To provide a way to search and replace specific text and convert to clickable url in word.
2- The method should work in word 2003 or later
3- Provide instruction on how to use.
It would be nice if it could be added to word directly, not per document everytime we need it
Here are examples of text that will need to be converted to url
# 07-010086
# 06-010228
# 05-010550
# 05-010370
# 01-010823
# 01-010718
# 01-010435
# 99-010488
# 2004-0060211E5
# 2007-0242611E5
# 9405347
# 9921477
# 2000-0037072
# 9928395
# 2000-0009905
# 2001-0081167
You can analyse the regular expression yourself, but I think it could be written as follows:
Look for a "#"
followed by a space
followed by 2 OR 4 DIGITS
Followed by a "-"
Followed by 6 OR 7 digits
Maybe Followed by 2 chars or Digits
And a second regular expression
Look for a "#"
followed by a space
followed by 7 digits
Once this expression has been found, extract the number wich is the whole pattern without the "# " and replace by a clickable url pointing to
[[login to view URL]étations%20techniques%20/%20T1-TP1&xref=xxxxxxxxxx&vid=nextpage:francais][1]
(replace the xxxxxxx by the back reference)
Thanks
