Modify Python Code to work with LED Displays

This is a simple job, but I currently have a python program that runs my LED displays for events, the problem is that the program is for a different LED display, so the data coming up doesn't quite match. I am looking for an expert in Python to change the protocol of the display code in python so it correctly displays on my LED displays. For your reference, the program is for HL970 ([login to view URL]), I am looking to modify it for HL950 ([login to view URL]) where there are 4 displays showing 2x2 or 3x2 characters in each modular display.
