PHP - Google Base Implementation

Hi, I need a php function where I can pass a string to Google Base and it gets the first image URL in the XML feed that comes back. Here are a couple of link examples: <[login to view URL]> <[login to view URL]> The code example implements the Zend framework. But we don't have the Zend framework installed. We would prefer not to have to reinstall PHP... so is there a way we can easily install the Zend folders without having to mess with the server... or preferably can we get this information back without using Zend.
