Hello The approach depends on the size of the databases. for small databases we can do DTS for example but in larger databases we can do a file copy . Send me more details about the configuration you have . thanks

Hi I am very interest to work on your project. I have experience on database systems especially on management side. that can be done in several ways. I do not care about size or number of databases that you have. I can develop a software on .net which can list all databases from source server and you can define destination server. Then I software can take backup and upload to server, then restore it. I need for this only ftp server that need to installed, filezilla server can be used and free, I can do that part too if you wish and source code will be included too. Hi, Completed migration from MS SQL Server 2000/2005 to SQL Server 2008 at Hostopia Inc. Thousands of customers databases. We are using scripts: 1) for migrate security (users&permissions). 2) copy data 3) Import (Attach) databases and change db ownership.. Usually it is doing during following cycle\procedure: On Friday copy databases & users& security. On Saturday (in scheduled maintance window) update databases and import\attach. in one week turn off original server. Please let me know if you have any questions.
