copy backup sql database to a demo db

I am using sql server 2005 for small business. I have several good full backups of the database called [login to view URL] Last night we had a user inadvertinently change some rows in a table. What I would like to do is restore the database to a database with a different name. However when i try and do this it is attempting to overwrite the production database from which it was backed up from. We do not want that as it will overwrite todays activity. So what I want is to merely create a duplicate of the database by using the backup and then merely pull over the table that was messed up from one database to the other. I need help in performing the creation the duplicate database without overwriting the current database. I only have the one server and instance. This seems like it should be easy to accomplish but so far it is not.
