I've done a similar project named intelligent park assistance with the help of AVR micro controller and 8 ultrasonic sensors. The system had two selective park mode, Perpendicular parking and parallel parking in the left or right side of the road. This system didn't have the actuators to steer, brake or accelerate. It was only an assistance to help the driver.
